OpenAI, Ollama Cloud, or any OpenAI-compatible API endpoint. Keys live in Obsidian's Secret Storage or session memory, and not in plugin data.

Conjugation tables come from a built-in, open-source reference, and not from a model's guess.

Select text, right-click, and pick one. Each shows you exactly what will be sent before anything leaves your content.
Review
For your own Spanish. Corrections and optional alternatives, each anchored to your words, with an incremental discovery from a tip to the full explanation. Add what you meant in English, so you can ensure your intentions are considered in responses.
Study guide
No observations, just material: words above your selected level with meanings and examples, and the verbs you used with the tense in play and a full conjugation table.
Excerpt
For text you are reading. A word gets its meaning and, if it is a verb form, its infinitive and tense. A phrase gets its literal reading, how people actually use it, and register. A paragraph becomes a study guide with a few stretch items. The meaning stays folded until you open it, so you can try first.
Notes you own
Everything lands in your vault as Markdown.
Codazo output is stored under a folder you choose, supporting Obsidian search and filtering. Nothing is written until you ask, or you can turn on automatic saving and let the notes accumulate. You can edit your own Codazo notes to personalize your learning and understanding.
- Reviews, study sheets, excerpts. Readable notes with the exact source and a computer-friendly document the plugin reads before showing it again, so nothing needs re-running.
- Words and verbs. One note per word in
Palabras/and one per verb and tense inVerbos/, each with acodazo-progresoprogress/proficiency property you set: nuevo, con-problemas, necesita-trabajo, casi-listo, dominado. Existing notes are never touched. - Linked revision. A copy of the passage in a new note, linked to the source and the review, for you to rewrite.
- Index. The pane lists everything saved, grouped by kind with the open note's items first. Pick any review, study sheet, or excerpt and it loads back with no model call.
- Exports. JSON or a script-free HTML page, saved into your vault.
Small tools
Reading helpers that need no model at all.
- Inline translations. Select a word or phrase, add its English, and it becomes
{botas|boots}: plain text that shows as the Spanish with an underline and the translation on hover, in both editing and reading views. - English intent. One click inserts a folded "spoiler" callout for what you meant to say. Reviews read it automatically and keep it out of the Spanish that is sent.
- Provider profiles. Several, one active: OpenAI, Ollama Cloud, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Keys live in Obsidian's Secret Storage or session memory.
- Interface in Spanish or English. One setting for the plugin's own text. Codazo's feedback and saved notes keep their wording.
